Today I was surprised to see my father brought home the latest copy of Men’s Health (MH). It’s not his kind of magazine. My dad is a sports fanatic, but isn’t big on health issues. Maybe because he’s already quite healthy for his age, continuously offsetting whatever he food he consumes by the amount of exercises he does; maybe because he doesn’t need the fitness tips, considering that he knows how to anyway.
My dad, by the way, at 60 years of age still plays weekly tennis, football twice a week, squash once a week AND does warm-up sessions with a personal trainer every week - me? I’d be satisfied enough if I can drag myself out of bed on Sunday to go to my local swimming pool.
But that’s not why I’m writing about.
The magazine has a Q&A page where men submit questions about women, and their resident female correspondent would answer all the mind-boggling things about us that men so desperately want to know.
In this edition, someone asks:
Twilight, True Blood, Dracula - what is it with women and vampires?
MH Correspondent answers: “It’s not ALL vampires, so slicking your hair back and donning a cape isn’t a Halloween hookup ticket. It’s the deeply tortured vampires - the ones oozing sexual energy because they’ve repressed their blood-lust instincts (like the ‘vegetarian’ Edward Cullen). They’re reflective, passionate, and eternally faithful. Plus, they’re played by guys like David Boreanaz and Stephen Moyer. Yum.”
To this I say, right on sister.
Now I don’t fancy David Boreanaz. But I am smitten with Bill Compton and think Rob Pattinson is fine indeed! So I was inspired to create this:

Quite sums up the current fascination with fanged men, dontcha think? Go on, take your pick! *wink*
